This was a very special project for some of my best friends. The groom came to me with an idea in mind, and I thought it was a perfect direction for the bride to be.  After searching for the right stone from a few dealers we settled upon this perfectly colored Ceylon sapphire.  

The engagement ring is a 2.4 carat emerald cut vibrant blue Ceylon sapphire surrounded by ornamental and step baguette diamonds in 14K white gold.  It was carved, cast, and set. 

The groom wanted a very simple but substantial symbol on his finger, and so he chose a thick platinum band. Fabricated. 

Monolith Ring 001 takes its inspiration from many sources. First the foundation, contrast between depth, shape, texture and color. Second add shot of minimalism. The third is technique, sand-casting meets fusion, and lastly the mantra, Simple • Elegant • Beautiful.

Diamond Lake on Mountain Top is one of the ring in the Landscapes collection.  When viewed from the side one can see that the ring gradually grows upwards towards a peak.  Like a mountain crevasses and fissures cover the faces leading toward's the surprise on top, a diamond lake.  From the top, and especially during a sunny day, the wearer can see a single 2mm vs ( very slightly included ) white diamond sparkling below the sapphire's base, a diamond hidden at the bottom of a lake.

The with light the sapphire shines a greenish yellow, but most of the time the stone looks more towards a light green.

If you have been in the shop during the summer months then you may have met The Monolith Ring. The Monolith Ring is a heavy 2.7 ozt ( troy ounces ) in weight. Originally designed as a template to mold and modify the casting from which it came fell apart inside leaving very interesting textures on the outside of it's walls.  Instead of melting it down into another piece I put it in the case and it has become a favorite among visitors.  Also knows as the BFR.

Gem on the Rough is a sculptural ring attempting to capture the image of a gemstone growing naturally out of the rough from which it came.  Depending on the mineral different gems grow in various patterns.  Gem on the Rough jests at that idea and grows in its own imaginary emerald way.

The Phi Engagement Ring was a collaboration between myself and architect Leif Hamnquist for his bride to be.  Drafted on paper and moved to CAD ( computer aided design ) the main inspiration behind the ring was mathematical proportions starting from the stone and continuing through out the design in various elements. 

The square and rectangle patterns running down where the ring's shank splits, and the height choice for the stone off of the shank, these are a few small elements in proportion the the stone that were contributed by using Phi.

This ring was designed for and by my cousin and his wife.  She desired a ring that would work all day along side her gardening, construction work, and landscaping.  She also found herself wanting something less traditional but still precious.  After talking about a few options she fell in love with the idea of a rough or industrial diamond.

Rough or industrial diamonds are stylish and affordable.  I think they are a wonderful alternative to traditional mountings.

This pear shaped moissanite ring was designed for close friends with a concern with conflict stones.  Although they knew that I share the same concern and only deal with reputable sources, the idea of using mossanite was most desirable and bought them the most confidence. 

Moissanite brings its own unique light properties to the table. Moissanite has a higher light refractive index than diamond which makes it fire ( sparkle ) even brighter than diamond.  Moissanite is a great alternative to diamond, and it also is much more affordable.

The Blue Fin tuna tail pendant is one of my newest members to the nautical line. As a child growing up on the Cape, many of my friend's fathers were tuna fishermen.  On many of their garages hung a trophy tail reminding us all of the day they caught that one big fish.  I wanted to capture that thought into a pendant for the many fishermen still out there looking to get the rush of the blue fin.
